Looking for adventure and challenge? Want to experience opportunities that other teens never will? For young men and women, ages 12 to 20, the San Angelo Civil Air Patrol Squadron offers the following opportunities:
To become a Civil Air Patrol cadet, you must:

The next step in putting on the CAP uniform is to attend a meeting on Thursday evening at 6:30pm at the San Angelo Center for Emergency Management. Go to Join! for more information. Be sure to check out our Facebook Page.
- Learn search and rescue skills and participate in search and rescue exercises and missions
- Fly in the squadron aircraft, a Cessna 182 Skylane
- Join the color guard and present the United States flag in parades and at local events.
- Attend the U.S. Air Force Pararescue orientation
- Participate in summer and winter encampments
- Build and launch model rockets
- Learn the history and principles of flight
- Develop leadership skills
- Many other opportunities await you as a CAP cadet!
To become a Civil Air Patrol cadet, you must:
- Be at least 12 years of age, and not yet 18.
- Be a United States citizen or a permanent resident
- Attend meetings, participate in activities, and support the squadron
- Be willing to wear a United States Air Force uniform properly, and follow regulations regarding hair length and style
